Mon, 5/6: 2:45 PM  - 4:15 PM
Non-Scientific Session
As the American wind energy market continues to grow, more projects will be proposed near communities and neighbors that voice concerns about potential impacts. This session will review the science behind successful community engagement and provide practical examples of what works. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive role-playing simulation where they will negotiate engage with the public about the conditions for a proposed wind energy project. The session's presenters and Q&A panelists will represent the perspectives of a professional mediator, state government, project development and independent stakeholders.
