Description

With the whirlwind speed that technology advances, it is hard to keep up with all the new sensor technologies that appear on the market. In this pop-up educational session, attendees will attain a better understanding of how incorporating sensor technologies into an organization's safety management system can help eliminate injuries and deaths in the workplace. The presenter will discuss the different types of sensors, including those that may become indispensable components of the safety practitioners' arsenal.

There are many types of sensors, and each can provide millions of data points falling into the following categories:

1. Proximity
2. Physiological
3. GPS Tracking
4. Wearables
5. Ergonomic
6. Environmental

The attendees will participate in a discussion regarding which sensor technologies they are using at their jobs and the problems these technologies help resolve. The issues of privacy and data protection will also be discussed. In addition to leaving with a better understanding of the various types of sensors, the goal of this pop-up session is for attendees to learn how to use sensors in a predictive, proactive manner.
