Description

Imagine the worst accident that might happen at your facility. When did you realize that it could have been prevented? Our work culture is constantly changing opening doors for accidents to occur every day. How can we plan for a safe future? We live in a reactive society, boom an accident and then we take the next step. Behaviors toward safety holds two sides on the scale; a) the right way following the rules, or b) the easy way. Where should we set that our balance? We can't change the past, yet we can learn from it. We can't change our personality, yet we can focus on the present, using our training and watching out for each other. We can't predict the future, yet we can ask the tough questions that open a dialogue, allowing us to reach beyond our self-imposed limits. The Safety R.O.C.K.S.! philosophy stands for: 1) Remember – learn from and respect the past; 2) Our Commitment – focus on the present; and 3) to Keep Safe – protecting the future. Through the use of examples, stories, and metrics, this PDC will examine each of the three pillars in the R.O.C.K.S. philosophy and the repercussions which follow a life-changing situation. This course is designed for all levels of professionals, especially rising or newly promoted safety and IH managers. Participants are encouraged to participate throughout the course, leaving with fresh ideas and helpful resources to educate, motivate, and inspire companies to further enrich their safety programs.
