Private label brands—comprised of products made by one company but sold by another—will play an increasingly important role for global retail leaders. However, private-label brands come with their own set of regulatory requirements and increased risks for noncompliance.

This presentation will instruct participants on complying with regulations in the markets where their products are sold; identifying and eliminating substances of concern; classifying products to ensure safe transportation, storage, and disposal; and achieving full product compliance.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

• Achieve insight into and overcome the top regulatory challenges for creating private label brands
• Explain leading retailers' methods for ensuring product safety and compliance with Proposition 65, the Conflict Minerals Regulation, the California and New York cleaning product ingredient disclosure regulations, REACH, the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, the U.N. 38.3 regulation on lithium batteries, the California Energy Commission, and more
